Why is Mandurah Forum being redeveloped?

In 1983, Mandurah Forum shopping centre opened to service the modest needs of what was then a small holiday town. Now after more than 30 years, in a major $350 million transformation, Mandurah Forum is set to become the new retail heart for the booming population of southern Perth.

Almost doubling in size and with a complete revitalisation of the existing centre we are creating an exceptional retail destination offering a superior customer experience. The new Mandurah Forum will have an upgraded fashion offer, and also include an enhanced food and dining offer. 

We’re also taking this opportunity to boost customer convenience with a new car parks and additional access points. 

What will the revitalised centre offer customers and the local community?

The $350m redevelopment will completely transform Mandurah Forum.

With an extra 26,000sqm of retail space the shopping centre is almost doubling in size.

A major regional centre and a new retail heart for southern Perth.

The first next generation David Jones store in WA will join a new Target and existing majors - Kmart, Big W, Coles and Woolworths.

Over 220 stores upon completion.

A new café and restaurant precinct with alfresco dining, café terrace-style food court and children’s play areas.

Delivering a total one-stop shopping experience, the new Mandurah Forum will offer premium and fashion-forward brands, the best of everyday fashion, a food market hall offering fresh foods and convenience.

What retailers and brands will open at the new Mandurah Forum?

We are pleased to be welcoming David Jones to Mandurah Forum in 2018, which will offer the leading brands across fashion, beauty and home. A new Target store is now open joining a refurbished Kmart and Coles, along with Big W and Woolworths.

Our new retail offer will also include more than 220 stores offering premium and fashion-forward brands and the best of everyday fashion for the whole family.

Full leasing arrangements for the entire centre are yet to be finalised but as we move into the next stage of construction we’re looking forward to keeping you up-to-date with what new retailers we’ll welcome to the revitalised Mandurah Forum.

Will the existing centre change in the redevelopment?

Absolutely! As part of the redevelopment we’re taking this opportunity to transform the entire existing centre. Designed to express our local relaxed coastal lifestyle, we’ll provide an enhanced customer experience.

With the latest store fitouts, a new interactive playground, striking modern amenities and contemporary finishes will be fully upgraded throughout the existing centre. Mandurah Forum will look like a brand new centre, both inside and out.

Who is doing the construction?

We are working with appointed builder, Brookfield Multiplex.

Will the old Forum be demolished? If so when?

Parts of the building will need to be demolished to be rebuilt into the new Mandurah Forum. Construction started in May 2016, and the new centre is being constructed in stages.

When will the redevelopment begin?

When will the redevelopment be complete?

The completion will be rolled out in a staged approach. Key timings for this are:

May 2016 – construction commenced

December 2016 – multi-deck car park complete

March 2017 – Stage 1 stores open

July-2017 – Stage 2 open

Early 2018 – Grand opening

Will the Centre continue to trade during the redevelopment?

Yes. Mandurah Forum will continue to trade while we redevelop the centre.

Will there be any changes to trading hours during the redevelopment?

No, the Centre trading hours will not change during the redevelopment. You can check our trading hours by visiting Please note individual store hours may vary.

What’s going to happen to retailers who need to close?

Over 90% of the existing retailers within the centre have been invited back to continue to be part of the centre’s retail community. We are working with these businesses to help them manage the transition and to benefit from the new redevelopment into the future.

When was Mandurah Forum last redeveloped?

Originally opened in 1983, an additional wing was added to the centre in 1994. No major development work has happened since.

When did this development project get approved?

In April 2015 the Peel Joint Development Assessment Panel approved the project after the development application received unanimous endorsement from the City of Mandurah Council.


Is the car park and roads surrounding the centre also being redeveloped?

Yes, a new multi-deck car park and the first stage of a new rooftop carpark are now open. Construction of the rooftop carpark will be completed by the end 2017, with over 3,000 parking bays in total onsite.

We have created new entries to alleviate congestion, increase safety and provide better access to Mandurah Forum. 

Will there be enough parking to accommodate extra visitors to Mandurah Forum?

Yes, a new multi- deck and rooftop car park will provide a total of over 3000 spaces.

Will I still be able to park at the Centre during construction?

Yes. Parking and customer convenience is a priority during the redevelopment. Best parking for Target, Coles and Kmart is via the Rooftop Carpark with entries from Pinjarra Road and Clarice Street. Best parking for Big W and Woolworths is via the Multi-deck carpark with access from Dower Street. More information about parking at Mandurah Forum can be found here
